WHO ARE LOUIS DE GRENELLE?
Maison Louis de Grenelle was founded in 1859 and is still independently run by the family. It continues the tradition of making sparkling wines in the depths of its cellars burrowed underneath Saumur in the heart of the Valley of Kings, the Val de Loire.
WHAT IS CREMANT?
Cremant is a wonderful alternative to Champagne, if you don’t want to spend a fortune but still have the qualities of a Champagne-style wine. The difference is that Champagnes tend to be aged for a minimum of fifteen months, with 12 on lees. Normally Cremant is aged on average for nine months on lees.
TASTING NOTES:
Louis de Grenelle Cremant de Loire is bright with young straw colour and a vivid mousse.
The nose offers pure expressions of crushed apple, pear, ripe citrus and lemongrass. On the palate, it has a sleek texture with a creamy mouthfeel balanced by a crisp backbone, young pure fruit flavours and medium long finish.
