Pocas 20 Year Old Tawny Port

Pocas are a fantastic company based out of Vila Nova de Gaia and were established in 1908. They make a number of wines, but their Ports for me are the winners! This particular bottle comes in a limited edition decanter and was rated outstanding by critics from Wine Enthusiast, Decanter and Wine Spectator.

WHAT IS POCAS 20 YEAR OLD TAWNY PORT?

It’s pretty much what it says on the tin, it’s a tawny Port that has been made out of a blend of a number of vintages with an average age of 20 years.

TASTING NOTES:

Pocas 20 Year Old Tawny Port is a pale to mid-deep amber/tawny. Open and gentle on the nose showing walnuts and brazil nuts. It has all the beautiful savoury notes that Tawny is known for and is quite rich in style but very smooth with a silky texture and a spicy edge. Long and complex with marmalade on the finish.
