Pocas Soberbo Vermouth

Get ready for your newest favourite drink! I was luckily enough to be given a tour of the Pocas Port House in March 2025. It was absolutely outstanding and we tried some amazing Port wines. However, the stand out sample of the day with this amazing vermouth!

WHAT IS SOBERBO VERMOUTH?

Soberbo is the name of the drink. It’s literal translation is ‘Superb’.
Pocas is the producer
Vermouth is the style of fortified wine.

The production of this was inspired by old company records and essences from the thirties and forties, Soberbo Vermouth is the modern take. It’s made from white Port Wine and 18 different botanicals carefully selected and picked in Poças’ Estates in Douro Valley. This unique combination provides an original and perfect balance between sweetness and bitterness.

TASTING NOTES:

There’s a lot going on with Pocas Soberbo Vermouth. The texture is smooth yet full and you get insane floral notes, herbal notes such as rosemary, combined with hits of citrus like orange peel and a bitter note that I can’t quite put my finger on. It’s so refreshing and will take your evening from good to great!

HOW TO SERVE:

Two ways in my opinion.
1. Over ice with lemon
2. Over ice with tonic and lemon
