Back in April 2024 I had the pleasure of going to Vinitaly in Verona, Italy. If you follow our socials then you’ll have undoubtedly seen my posts. I had the pleasure of meeting my good friend Marco Cabrelli, an importer and restaurateur from Manchester. He introduced me to his friend (and now my friend) Giulio Rossello. Most importantly, he introduced me to Giulio’s wines. They were fabulous!
Fast-forward to July and we have just received our first shipment of Rossello wines, including this amazing Roero Arneis.
WHAT IS ROERO ARNEIS?
Arneis is a grape, commonly found in the hills of Roero, which is in Alba, northwest Italy. It was almost extinct back in the 1970’s but a handful of growers have helped restore it earning it the nickname ‘the comeback kid’.
WHAT DOES THIS WINE TASTE LIKE?
This is a fine and elegant wine. It’s delicate and has wonderful floral notes to it, complimented by hints of green pears and citrus.
FOR FANS OF:
Pinot Gris, Torrontes
FOOD PAIRING:
Pair this with a roast chicken and thyme risotto
