WHO ARE DOMAINE ROY?
The Roy family have been vignerons in the village of Fontenay, just to the north of Chablis, for over 200 years. Today, Claude Roy, together with his children David and Karine, farm 18 hectares of vines on the right bank of the River Serein.
HOW IS DOMAINE ROY CHABLIS PRODUCED?
The grapes are harvested from vines with an average age of 42 years. This is significant because the vines will be right in their peak of production, when the balance of the yield and concentration of juice is perfectly balanced.
The Chablis is then fermented and aged in stainless steel vats in order to preserve the maximum of fruit, they produce a magnificent range of crisp, elegant, pure, unoaked Chablis. One of the freshest expressions of Chardonnay you can get.
TASTING NOTES
Domaine Roy Chablis is fruity, with the minerality so typical of the wines of the region. Best drunk within 5 years, to best appreciate the freshness and vivacity of this wine.
