Looking for an alternative wine to Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio? Or an alternative food pairing? Then Picpoul de Pinet is the wine for you.
Picpoul de Pinet means Picpoul (the grape) of Pinet (the place). The literal translation of Picpoul is “Lip Stinger”. This is because of it’s incredibly refreshing ‘lip stinging’ acidity and citrus notes.
The Mediterranean climate of Languedoc helps bring wonderful notes of honeydew melon and other tropical fruit flavours. It’s a lively wine that typically goes well with shellfish, but we’re going to throw a curveball here and say it would be a great alternative carbonara wine pairing!
