Cave de Hunawihr Gewürztraminer

Cave de Hunawihr is a small cooperative founded in 1954, with vineyards surrounding the village of Hunawihr in Alsace. The vineyards sit on south and south-east facing slopes, protected from the oceanic influence by the Vosges Mountains. This Réserve Gewürztraminer is made from carefully selected parcels, picked at optimum ripeness to really show off the character of this wonderfully aromatic grape.
 
TASTING NOTES:
Straw yellow in colour, with an incredibly aromatic nose of mango, lychee and rose petal. Full-bodied and rich, but with refreshing acidity that keeps everything nicely balanced. There are lovely exotic fruit flavours on the palate, with the floral character lingering on a long, refreshing finish. A little touch of sweetness makes this a particularly interesting wine with spicy food..
