Maison Brotte Bouvencourt Vacqueyras

Maison Brotte officially launched in 1931, but the winemaking in the Brotte family goes back as far as 1880. Charles Brotte launched the winery back in 1931 and now it is ran by Thibault and Benoît Brotte, the 5th generation of the family to take on this fantastic winery. Starting out initially in Chateauneuf du Pape and Cairanne, they now have plantings all over the Rhone Valley.

This wine has a vivid ruby colour, with A delicate bouquet showing hints of Herbs de Provence and garrigue alongside aromas of red and black fruits, black olives and cinnamon. Following through from the nose, the palate is warmly generous and fleshy, with a smooth and elegant finish.

Basically, this is a blend of Grenache and Syrah. Two grapes that produce full-bodied wines but in this instance they create a wonderfully elegant wine that's well-rounded from 12 months in old oak vats that have an average age of 100 years.
