Maison Brotte Baies Dorees Viognier
I'm going to be a bit biased towards Maison Brotte and I'm not even going to apologise for it. In October 2025 I was invited to spend two days with the Brotte family at their winery in Chateauneuf du Pape and it was incredible. We went on tours through many of their vineyards, had fantastic meals and did a full tasting in their amazing barrel cellar room.
Although I'm biased, it's with good reason. The wines are fantastic. This Viognier would be considered their entry level wine and if this is entry level then it sets a fantastic precedent for how good the rest of the range is!
TASTING NOTES:
The bouquet offers a unique aromatic range including citrus flowers, exotic fruits, apricots, white-fleshed stone fruit and jasmine. Intensely fruity and well balanced. This wine is mouth-filling which works in harmony with the flavours of exotic fruit and toasted brioche.
FOR FANS OF:
Good wine.

FOOD PAIRING:
I actually had this with escargot (snails) and it was incredible. However, if you're not in the mood for that, i'd actually have this with eggs royale with lashings of hollandaise sauce. The perfect brunch wine.
