Raphael Midoir Sauvignon de Touraine
You must try this Sauvignon de Touraine.
Raphael Midoir is the fifth generation to own and runs this 30 hectare family estate located in the village of Chemery in the heart of Touraine. Their Sauvignon is from 20 year old vines planted on a mixture of clay-limestone and silex soils and is a classic example of crisp, aromatic grape variety.
If you're a fan of Sancerre or Pouilly Fume then Sauvignon de Touraine is the perfect alternative.
TASTING NOTES:
It's wonderfully aromatic with notes of exotic fruits such as lychee, quince and candied mandarins. There's a really lovely minerality present in this wine, which helps add more complexity to the taste. Overall, this is an absolutely fabulous Loire Valley Sauvignon from a fantastic producer.
