Rossello Alta Langa DOCG

Back in April 2024 I had the pleasure of going to Vinitaly in Verona, Italy. If you follow our socials then you’ll have undoubtedly seen my posts. I had the pleasure of meeting my good friend Marco Cabrelli, an importer and restaurateur from Manchester. He introduced me to his friend (and now my friend) Giulio Rossello. Most importantly, he introduced me to Giulio’s wines. They were fabulous!
 
Fast-forward to July 2025 and we have been working extensively with Rossello for over a year!
 
WHAT IS ALTA LANGA?
 
Established as a DOCG in 2011, Alta Langa is reserved exclusively for sparkling wines made via the traditional method (Metodo Classico), the same process used to craft Champagne. Only Pinot Noir and Chardonnay—two noble varietals—are permitted, and strict rules govern every aspect of production, from yield to ageing. Alta Langa must be vintage-dated and aged on the lees for a minimum of 30 months, resulting in wines of impressive structure, depth, and elegance.
 
TASTING NOTES:
 
On the nose, the wine unfurls delicate aromas of white peach, crisp green apple, and lemon zest, punctuated by hints of acacia blossom and wild herbs. Subtle undertones of toasted brioche and raw almond, a gift of lengthy lees ageing, add complexity and richness.
Upon tasting, Rossello Alta Langa delivers a vibrant freshness, its lively acidity perfectly balanced by a creamy mousse. Flavours of pear, citrus, and golden apple take centre stage, supported by tertiary notes of flint and honey that develop with time in the glass.
