Le Peewit Sauvignon Gris

A fantastic, zippy and refreshing white wine from Gascony, named after the sound the northern Lapwing makes (Peewit). This bird migrates from the UK to Gascony every winter.

WHAT IS SAUVIGNON GRIS?

Sauvignon Gris is a rare grape variety from France, closely related to Sauvignon Blanc. It produces white wines with a rich and fruity character, often showing notes of peach, citrus, and gentle spice. While it is less common than Sauvignon Blanc and more challenging to grow, winemakers value Sauvignon Gris for its fuller body and interesting flavours. Today, it is grown in small amounts in regions like Bordeaux, as well as in places such as Chile and New Zealand where it continues to intrigue wine lovers looking for something unique.

TASTING NOTES:

Fresh and elegant, this wine offers aromas of white peach and apple blossom, complemented by juicy and zesty acidity on the palate
