Painted Wolf 'The Den' Pinotage

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY SOCIAL WINE?
 
Quite simply, a wine to be drunk with friends and family. What does that mean? Well, an easy drinking wine that's a bit softer on the palate and is more fruit forward.
 
WHAT IS PINOTAGE?
 
Pinotage is South Africa's most famous grape. It is a cross between Pinot Noir and Hermitage/Cinsault (Hence the name Pinotage). For years it was misunderstood and only used for basic table wine. In the last couple of decades it has become very popular and wine makers are understanding how to make complex and good quality expressions of this grape.
 
TASTING NOTES:
 
This wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks with the inclusion of both American and French oak staves, so expect the wine to be fruit forward with notes of mulberry and blueberries, complimented with lovely acidity and a nice hints of toast and milk chocolate to round the flavour and texture out.
