Lightfoot & Wolfville Fauna

WHO ARE LIGHTFOOT & WOLFVILLE?
 
Lightfoot & Wolfville are a family-owned winery, based in the town of Wolfville in the Gaspereau Valley. They’re one of the only wineries in the region that practice biodynamic farming and all their wines are certified organic at the very least.
 
WHAT’S EXCITING ABOUT LIGHTFOOT & WOLFVILLE FAUNA?
 
Fauna is a fruit-driven red wine, made with a blend of grapes you may not have ever come across. It's a blend of Leon Millot, Marquette, Petite Pearl, Marechal Foch and Frontenac Noir. These are hybrid grapes that respond well to cool climate regions. The result is a wine with a bright, berried lushness and a lightness in structure indicative of the ultra cool-climate in Nova Scotia. A partial carbonic maceration contributes amplified fruit flavours, a smooth, velvety texture and immediate drinkability.
 
TASTING NOTES:
 
It oozes flavours of juicy berries like strawberries and raspberries, with savoury earthy notes on the nose; brambleberry jam, cherry cola and liquorice root. Medium-bodied, fresh and bright, with dark fruit flavours and light tannins.
